Dr. James U. Todd, founder of Todd & Associates (T&A), the
nations oldest financial aid facilities management service has
helped improve opportunities for over two million students to
make use of services valued at well over four billion dollars.
T&A's work on behalf of 500 plus institutions, agencies and
organizations has resulted in the successful use of improved
management tools and systems that promote greater student, parent
and organizational success. Dr. Todd's initial national recognition
in education circles was the result of his work at the University
of Houston in the early 1970's. His outstanding model of community
outreach involving scholarships and educational financing service
delivery enabled a network of secondary schools, community colleges
and the university to make use of available funds and educational
programs that dramatically expanded educational opportunity
and increased student success. Officials at the U.S. Department
of Education were so impressed by his advance technology based
management systems and responsible service delivery that they
convinced the University of Houston to loan Dr. Todd to the
U.S. Regional Office of Education to provide organizational
and technical support to more than 350 colleges and schools
in the Southwest. Dr. Todd's consulting activities continued
with his selection as a member of the U.S. Commission "Panel
of Experts" for the redesign of the Federal funding process
that distributes billions of dollars known as "campus-based
funds" (FSEOG, FCWSP AND Perkins funds). In 1978 Dr. Todd left
the University of Houston, founded Todd & Associates and began
providing services to colleges, school districts, state, federal
and private agencies. 1n June 1997, Dr. Todd received The University
of Texas' Distinguished Graduate Award for his outstanding work
as a professional in the field of education.
